May 31...orientation day!

So it is day 3 already and I am losing count because they have been going by so fast! We have been through days of orientation and getting to know Charleston. Highlight of yesterday was a scavenger hunt to find landmarks all over downtown. We spent almost 3 hours speed walking downtown, talking to strangers, and taking pictures (hopefully they will be up soon!). Later today some of us are beginning our McDonald's orientation (me and several other all packed into my tiny Jetta for the next 10 weeks ought to make bonding super fun! I will be working in one of the McDonald's in West Ashley with 2 other students. We have already come across a dilemma and have been praying to God to help us come up with a solution. We have 6  people going to 2 locations with only 1 car, that fits 5 at most, as of now. How we are going to figure this out we have no idea right now, we just pray that the managers across the city will be willing to work with us and switch some students around help out the driving situation.

Our biggest ministry will be our workplaces. This means we are constantly focusing on how we can share the love of Christ with these people we will work with. We have been in prayer that God will be working in their hearts and softening them to hear His word, and also that He is preparing our hearts to share it. We know it is going to be our biggest struggle to go in everyday with a smile and positive attitude, to show endless grace and mercy, and just love on others. Thankfully we don't have to rely on our own strength for this or we would fail miserably. I know it is going to be all God even after a few days of work. Please be in prayer for us at work this summer! Tomorrow will be our official first day of work!

I have never had so much time to just focus on praising God and learning about him and how he shown his love in each of our lives. As we grow in our relationships here I see God at work and can see how he brought each of us here to Charleston for his purpose and glory. I am so grateful he chased me down to show me how he loves me and how precious I am to him. This is going to be a summer filled with spiritual growth and total reliance on Him. Although my support has been raised there are still many students here with a lot to raise, please continue to pray for those who raising support, that God will provide for these people because they are meant to be here this summer.

Until next time...Ciao!

  1. Praise God, the car situation worked out. We were able to figure it out quickly and everyone now has a ride!
